A Great Place in the Karoo

Our 2 night stay at this guest house in Prince Albert was outstanding in every respect. We were cordially received by the very friendly owners, Inga and Albert. Their care and advise (things to do, restaurants …) throughout our stay was extremely helpful. Breakfast was outstanding, with respect to quality, service and location in a comfortable green house.

The entire setting of the property is already worth the visit, our room with fire place and air conditioning also had a nice porch to relax, there’s a pool (watch the stars from the deck), sauna, anything you want. Unfortunately, the place is not around the corner from where we live, but we’ll try to be back anyway!

They Make it Look so Easy

Dennehof was simply flawless. From the warm welcome by Inga, Albert and their dogs to the huge comfortable beds and spacious, clean bathrooms we had absolutely everything we needed and more.

The quality of the whole experience was something you won’t find every day and was refined to a point of excellence, they really have thought of every possible way to make guests feel welcome and relaxed while giving them everything they need.

I can’t end the review without mentioning Inga and her team serving up the best breakfast in town! 10/10 will definitely be coming back!

Lovely Spot, Immaculate with Lovely Attention to Detail

Beautiful spot on the edge of Prince Albert in easy walking distance of the main street.

The whole guest house has lovely details from the decor in the rooms, local or home made produce, very pretty breakfast seating areas to all the very relevant information sent to us by Inga and Albert before we arrived.

They went out their way to highlight areas of the town and make our stay as fun as possible.

Breakfast was delicious too. We will definitely. come back and stay longer next time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept children?

We welcome all children over six years of age.

Are you pet friendly?

As much as we love all animals we unfortunately do not allow outside pets onto the property, our two Ridgies, Ella and Ferdinand, would have their noses completely out of joint.

What are your check in and check out times?

Check-in is between 14:00 and 18:00, check-out is 10:30 on the morning of departure.

Are you self-catering?

Our units have fridges and tea/coffee stations but are not equipped for preparing food.

Can we braai or barbeque?

To avoid inconveniencing other guests, the braai/barbeque area can only be used by groups that have booked the entire guesthouse. This is also dependent on Dr Who, our resident owl – should he be in position in the pepper tree above the area, we discourage use of fires in his space.

Do you serve meals?

We serve a bespoke breakfast in a glorious setting, but no other meals. You are welcome to buy cheese, charcuterie, and wine in town and we will happily provide a tray with crockery and cutlery should you wish to sit on one of our decks or other lovely seating nooks for a light lunch or dinner.

Do you accept outside guests for breakfast?

If we are not fully booked with inhouse guests, we will happily accommodate outside breakfast guests with a pre-booking up to 12 hours in advance.

How many guests can your rooms accommodate and how are the rooms configured?

We have eight rooms that comfortably sleep two adults each. Our Windmill Room has a sleeper couch for one or two (small) children, and we can add a day bed to Cottage Room for a child. Cottage Room and Dairy Room have an inter-leading door which can open up to create a two-bedroom, two-bathroom family unit.

Five of our rooms can also be configured with twin beds, our default setting is king XL beds, except in Forge Room which is a smaller space with a Queen XL bed.

Do you have a swimming pool?

We have a beautiful pool which is small in size to keep with our sustainability ethos in a water scarce region, but big enough to keep all our guests cool on hot summer days.
